It is a three km. long and 6 mts. wide newly built pathway around the right bank of river Ganges extends from Triveni Ghat to Barrage. It has a beautiful railings and benches to sit. It is strictly meant only for walking and provides scenic views of the meandering Ganges in its early stages on its course to bless the land and it's people. People use this for morning walk and evening stroll. One can enjoy the coolness of fresh gushing water , fresh air and divine atmosphere of Ganges while walking around it. Asthapath is dotted by many ashrams, temples and Yoga institutes. Reflection of it's lights in the Ganges makes very pictursque view from the Triveni Ghat at the time of dusk when Arti is performed. Asthapath is more popular as Marine Drive amongst the localites. What a contradiction ? Neither it's marine nor you can drive. For religious or an atheist , for spritual or a materialistic the serenity of the place is unexplicable.
There is a alien world across the river in Rajaji National Park, one hears the melodious sound of birds, can see herds of deers and bathing elephants.
